Full disclosure – I dislike peanut butter (we don’t have it in Argentina, where I am from, and I never got used to eating it)! But this? Yeah, I licked all the things. And my peanut butter loving family could not get enough!

It’s so easy, creamy, and ridiculously delicious that you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. Best part? No fancy ice cream maker required!

Just your trusty Ninja Creami and a handful of simple ingredients you probably already have in your pantry. Trust me, this is going to be your new favorite way to satisfy those peanut butter cravings!

Supplies Needed:

The full ingredient list and directions are at the bottom of the post.

Stretch It Tip:

  • Peanut Butter Cup Mania: Swirl in some chocolate syrup or hot fudge and sprinkle with chopped peanut butter cups for a decadent treat.
  • Nutty Delight: Top with chopped peanuts, mini chocolate chips, or a drizzle of honey for added texture and flavor.
  • Milkshake Madness: Use this ice cream as a base for the most amazing peanut butter milkshakes you’ve ever tasted.

Tips and Tricks:

  • First Spin Not Enough? If your ice cream seems a little soft after the first spin, don’t worry! Just hit that “Re-spin” button on your Ninja Creami, and it’ll work its magic again.
  • More Peanut Butter, Please! For an even more intense peanut butter flavor, add an extra tablespoon of creamy peanut butter or try a peanut butter powder.
  • Healthier Option: Reduce the sugar or use a sugar substitute like maple syrup or honey. You can even try adding a scoop of vanilla protein powder for a protein boost!
  • Dairy-Free Delight: Substitute the milk and heavy cream with your favorite dairy-free alternatives, such as coconut milk or unsweetened almond milk.
  • Add a couple of tablespoons of cocoa powder for a chocolate peanut butter ice cream version.
  • Make sure that your ice cream is frozen on a level surface, and uneven top will cause problems with your Ninja Creami blade.
  • If you would like to add peanuts or a scoop of natural peanut butter, make a small hole in the ice cream after the first spin and re-spin on mix-in.
  • if the ice cream is powdery, add a tablespoon of milk and respin.
  • Use chocolate milk in place of the whole milk for a twist on your homemade ice cream recipe.

Storage:

Store any leftover ice cream (if there is any!) in the Ninja Creami pint container. Place the storage lid on the pint jar and store it in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. It’ll be waiting for you whenever that next craving strikes!

Peanut Butter Ninja Creami Ice Cream FAQs:

  • Why use pudding mix in ice cream?
Instant pudding mix isn’t just for pudding! It contains thickening agents like cornstarch or modified food starch, which help create a creamier, smoother texture in the ice cream. Plus, it adds a little extra vanilla flavor.
  • Can I use a different type of milk?
You bet! Feel free to use your milk of choice, whether it’s whole milk, 2% milk, or even a non-dairy option like almond milk or oat milk.
  • My ice cream is too soft, even after the Re-spin.
What can I do? First, make sure your freezer is set to the correct temperature. If it’s still too soft, you can add a small amount of xanthan gum (about 1/8 teaspoon) to the base mixture before freezing to help thicken it.
  • Can I add other mix-ins to the ice cream?
Go wild! Chopped peanuts, mini chocolate chips, a swirl of chocolate syrup, or even some cookie crumbles would be delicious additions.
  • Is this recipe gluten-free?
Yep! Just double-check your pudding mix to make sure it’s gluten-free.
  • Substitute 1 tablespoon of cream cheese or 1/4 teaspoon of guar gum for the pudding mix for a thickening agent.

Ingredients for a rich peanut butter flavor:

  • 1 cup whole milk (or your milk of choice – Fairlife milk is excellent for extra protein!)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (the secret to that luxurious, creamy texture)
  • 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter (natural or regular, whatever floats your boat)
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla instant pudding mix (trust me on this one!)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (because vanilla and peanut butter are a match made in heaven)
  • 4 tablespoons sugar (or your preferred sweetener – adjust to taste)

Directions

1. Grab all your ingredients and measure them out. I always find this step helps me stay organized and prevents any last-minute scrambling.

2. Toss everything – that’s right, ALL the ingredients – into your blender. Secure the lid (trust me, you don’t want a peanut butter explosion) and blend until the mixture is completely smooth and dreamy.

Make sure there are no lumps of peanut butter or pudding mix lurking around. You may even want to scrape down the sides of the blender if there is anything sticking.

3. Pour & Freeze: Carefully pour the creamy mixture into your Ninja Creami pint container. Don’t fill it to the brim; leave a little space at the top to prevent any overflow during churning. Pop on the lid and place it in your freezer for at least 24 hours. Trust me, the anticipation is part of the fun!

4. Churn It Up: Once your ice cream base is frozen solid, it’s time for the magic of the Ninja Creami! Place the pint in the outer bowl and top with the outer bowl lid, ensuring the top of the frozen mixture is level (no bumps!). Insert it into your Ninja Creami ice cream machine.  Select the ice cream button and let the Ninja Creami work its magic!

5. Enjoy the Creamy Goodness:  Once the cycle is complete, take a peek inside. You should have a gorgeous, creamy peanut butter ice cream that’s ready to be devoured. Enjoy it right away, or freeze for a couple more hours if you prefer a firmer texture.
