All the Supplies you will need for our Halloween Sugar Cookies:

Ingredients:

Halloween Sugar Cookies Instructions:

  1. Roll out the dough: Roll out your sugar cookie dough between two sheets of parchment paper with your rolling pin to 1/4 inch. Cut into circles using a circle cookie cutter.
  2. Make the spider shapes by using the wrong end of a Wilton tip 1M to cut out the spider’s body. Then, use the wrong end of a Wilton tip 12 to cut out the spider’s head.
  3. Bake the cookies at 350°F (175°C) for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown. Let them cool on a wire rack.
  4. Transfer the black icing into a piping bag and snip off the tip. Pipe four legs on each side of the spider’s body.
  5. To fill the body and head melt the black candy melts in the microwave. Put chocolate into a piping bag and fill the spider’s body and head with the melted chocolate. While the chocolate is still wet, add candy eyes to the top of the spider’s head.
  6. Let the chocolate harden before serving.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Use a no-spread sugar cookie recipe to ensure your cookies hold their shape.
  • Roll out the dough and chill it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before cutting out to make it easier to work with.
  • If you don’t have piping tips, you can use a ziplock type bag to create the legs and head.
  • For a fun twist, add a small amount of red food coloring to the black icing to create a creepy crawly effect.
