Oh my goodness, how darling are these tulip tomato appetizers!? Not only are they so lovely to look at, but they are delicious, super easy to make and they are also affordable!
I love appetizers that are both tasty and pretty! And don’t these just have the most elegant look to them?
Ingredients:
- 22 Cherry Tomatoes
- 16 asparagus stalks
- 22 mozzarella balls
- 1 package chives
- Balsamic glaze
Directions:
1. With the stem side down, cut a triangle on the top of each tomato.
2. Gently scrape out the tomato seeds and rinse.
3. Insert the mozzarella ball into the whole cut in the tomato.
4. With a skewer or toothpick, make a hole where the stem would attach to the tomato. Depending on the size of your asparagus, you may have to wiggle the skewer to make a larger hole.
5. Cut the tops and lower stems off of the asparagus spears. Insert the trimmed stems into the tomato holes.
6. Place half of the chives going one way and the other half going the other way. Secure in place by tying them together with a separate piece making one large piece of chive “rope.”
7. Lay your rope down on your serving platter, and arrange your tomato tulips in opposite directions to make a bouquet.
8. Snip the stems/spears and lay extra tomato tulips to cover holes in the bouquet.
9. Use the chive rope to tie the bouquet together.
10. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and serve.
See how wonderful these turn out? They look like something you would be served at a fancy restaurant and yet, they are so easy to make. On top of that, they are a delicious appetizer recipe that will be a hit at your party!
