Supplies for Reese’s Oreos
You know we don’t recommend anything that I don’t use in my very own kitchen. Here are the supplies that make life a little easier and a whole lotta fun:
- cookie sheet (I used a half-sheet jelly roll pan)
- parchment paper (I love these precut sheets cuz who has time to deal with the rolled-up type)
- Wilton piping bags (as stated below, I love that I can put the candy melts in these and then put the bag in the microwave to melt the chocolates)
Ingredients for Peanut Butter Cups Stuffed Oreos:
- 12 dark chocolate creme Oreo cookies
- 12 thin Reese’s peanut butter cups (we used the THIN ones)
- Wilton pink candy melts
- Wilton Valentine’s Day sprinkles
- Wilton edible glitter spray (optional)
How to make Reese’s Stuffed Dark Chocolate Oreo Cookies:
1. Preheat over to 350º.
2. Remove the top chocolate wafers layer of the Oreo cookie and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
3. Place Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup on top of the Oreo.
4. Heat in the oven for 20-40 seconds. Watch closely as the Reese’s will melt quickly.
5. Let the chocolate cool for a minute or two, but not completely. Place the cookie you took off (in step 2) on top of the Reece’s. When cooled, the melted chocolate of the Reese’s will make the second cookie stick to the peanut butter chocolate layer.
6. Allow the cookies to reach room temperature.
7. Place 1/4 cup pink candy melts into a Wilton piping bag. The brand you use will make a difference, as Wilton bags can be put into the microwave for melting purposes, but not all brands have that capability.
8. Microwave candy melts for 45 seconds. Remove from the microwave and squeeze the candy melts to “mix.”
9. Place in the microwave again and melt the candy melts for 30 seconds at a time, massaging in between heating until the chocolate reaches the desired consistency.
10. Snip off the tip of the bag and drizzle over your peanut butter Oreo. Sprinkle with colorful sprinkles.
Store in an airtight container.
