Equipment
- Cookie Sheet (I love these lighter colored ones that don’t burn my baked goods)
- Pizza Cutter (use this instead of a knife)
- Parchment Paper (YOU GUYS!!! These parchment paper sheets are my new BFF. Like, life-changing for a baker!!!)
- Cooling Rack
- Powdered Sugar Duster
Ingredients for Homemade Strawberry Napoleon
- Individual Strawberry Napoleon with Puff Pastry Sheets
- 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed to room temperature (there are two in each box)
- 1 package JELL-O Instant Vanilla Pudding & Pie Filling – 5.1oz
- 3 cups cold milk
- 2 cups whipping cream (heavy cream)
- 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 pints fresh strawberries, sliced
How to Make Strawberry Napoleon
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out one sheet of puff pastry to a 9-inch square so that the fold marks are gone. Slice tick tack toe style to make 9 3-inch squares from each pastry sheet.
3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place squares on pan. Bake for 20 minutes, or until layers of puff pastry separate and tops are golden brown.
4. Once the baked pastry is cool to the touch, separate each square into 3 layers. Cool on a wire rack until completely cooled.
5. In a medium bowl, combine vanilla instant pudding and cold milk. Beat with whisk for 2 minutes. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate if puff pastry is still warm.
6. In a mixing bowl, beat cream, confectioner’s sugar, and vanilla on medium speed until stiff peaks form.
Assembly
7. To assemble Strawberry Napoleons, place puff pastry on dessert plates, spoon pudding, strawberry slices, and then whipping cream. Repeat and end with a final layer of puff pastry.
8. Dust the top of your napoleon with powdered sugar, place a dollop of cream and top with a strawberry.
